The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has published a two-page Pocket Guide on the value added tax (VAT) rate increase from 14% to 15% on 1 April 2018. The increase is one of the main measures announced as part of the Budget 2018 presented in February. Although the legislation for the VAT rate increase has not yet been enacted, the increase will be applied from 1 April 2018.
