According to a recent release from Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from South Africa and Vietnam met on 21 November 2025 and agreed to strengthen bilateral relations, including through the conclusion of an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
