On 26 November 2025, the Swiss Federal Council announced the adoption of the dispatch for the pending protocol to the 1999 income and capital tax treaty with Croatia. The protocol, signed 18 July 2025, is the first to amend the treaty. It will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will generally apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
