Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a joint statement with Saudi Arabia on 30 October 2019 that negotiations have begun for an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
