According to a release from the Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Economy, officials from Hong Kong and Kyrgyzstan met via video conference from 17 to 21 January 2022 for the first round of negotiations for an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
