On 28 July 2020, officials from Sri Lanka and Turkey met via virtual conference to discuss bilateral issues including the signing of the income tax treaty initialed on 23 January 2020 when negotiations were concluded. The treaty is the first of its kind between the two countries and must be signed and ratified before entering into force. Details of the treaty will be published once available.
