Treaty between Belgium and China (People's Rep.) – clarification on entry into force

OAccording to a press release of 27 January 2014, published by the Belgian Ministry of Finance, the Belgium - China (People's Rep.) Income Tax Treaty (2009) entered into force on 29 December 2013 and not on 4 January 2014. The treaty generally applies from 1 January 2014. From this date, the new treaty generally replaces the Belgium - China (People's Rep.) Income Tax Treaty (1985), as amended by the 1996 protocol.
