According to an update from UK HMRC in July 2022, the income and capital tax treaty between Kyrgyzstan and the United Kingdom entered into force on 8 April 2022. However, a subsequent update confirmed this was in error and the treaty had not yet entered into force.

The treaty, signed 13 June 2017, is the first of its kind between the two countries.
