On 3 April 2019, Uruguay's Chamber of Representatives approved the ratification of the pending social security agreement with Romania, which was approved by the Senate in November 2018. The agreement, signed 13 September 2017, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
