The State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan has announced the extension of the VAT exemption period for vegetable oils and certain foods until 30 April 2022. The VAT exemption applies for:

• The import of vegetable oil, sunflower and flax seeds, and soybeans into Uzbekistan;
• Turnover from the production and (or) sale of vegetable oil (except cottonseed oil); and
