On 9 January 2020, Venezuela published in the Official Gazette Presidential Decree No. 4,093, which provides for an increase in the minimum monthly salary from VES 150,000 to VES 250,000 with effect from 1 January 2020. The increase impacts the basis cap for social security contributions, unemployment insurance, and other benefits.
