On 21 October 2025, officials from Singapore and Vietnam met to discuss bilateral cooperation, including Vietnam's interest in negotiating an amending protocol to the 1994 tax treaty between the two countries to improve bilateral investment. Any resulting treaty would be the second to amend the treaty and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
