XatBot now operates in three distinct, integrated modes: Research, Autopilot, and Tax Flows (previously known as XatBot Monitor). Together, these modes take users from analyzing data and answering questions, to automating workflows and tracking regulatory changes, all within a single interface.

This release introduces powerful new capabilities across these modes, headlined by Deep Research, Autopilot, bidirectional MCP connections, and intelligent Tax Skills.

From Answers to Actions: An AI Assistant That Works Alongside You

This release marks a shift in what XatBot can do for tax professionals. Rather than simply answering questions, XatBot now automates multi-step tasks, conducts in-depth research on your schedule, connects to your wider technology stack, and adapts its behavior to match the way your team works. These are not incremental improvements, they represent a new way of working with AI in international tax.

Here’s what’s new:

Deep Research (Beta)

Deep Research is an advanced research mode that enables more thorough investigations into complex tax queries. Activate it on any prompt within Research mode and specify how long XatBot should spend processing. Rather than returning an immediate response, XatBot draws on a wider range of sources, cross-references data points, and delivers a structured research report complete with sections, references, footnotes, and source attributions, ready to use as a standalone deliverable for client advisory, internal review, or compliance documentation.

Deep Research is ideal for multi-jurisdictional comparisons, complex treaty analysis, or emerging regulatory questions where a standard response is not sufficient. It bridges the gap between quick-answer research and the kind of in-depth analysis that would traditionally require hours of manual work.

Automate Multi-Step Workflows with Autopilot

Orbitax has introduced Autopilot, a new XatBot mode that enables users to automate actions and workflows directly within the International Tax Platform. Describe what you want to automate through a conversation with XatBot, and it will guide you through a planning process before generating a structured workflow. From there, you can review the workflow in full before proceeding, or launch it immediately and let Autopilot carry out each step autonomously.

In this release, Autopilot is available within Project Settings and the Global Minimum Tax solution. Orbitax plans to expand Autopilot’s reach across the platform in future releases.

Connect XatBot to Your Entire Workflow with MCP

This release introduces bidirectional connectivity through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), extending XatBot’s reach in two complementary directions.

Use XatBot inside your AI tools: The new MCP Server Proxy allows users to connect XatBot’s tax intelligence directly into third-party AI platforms that support MCP-based connections, enabling access to Orbitax’s tax research capabilities without leaving your preferred AI environment. The MCP Server Proxy is available to all XatBot users.

Bring your tools into XatBot: The new Connections tab lets users add any compatible MCP server to their XatBot environment. Once connected, XatBot can pull in context, retrieve information, and trigger actions in external systems, all from within the same conversational interface. Connect to internal data warehouses to query datasets conversationally, document storage platforms like SharePoint or Google Drive, email services to draft communications from research findings, or ERP systems to pull financial data into tax research workflows. Setup requires only a server name, endpoint URL, and authentication credentials.

Together, these capabilities position XatBot as a central hub for international tax intelligence, accessible from wherever you work, and connected to the systems you already rely on.

Tax Skills

XatBot now supports intelligent Tax Skills: reusable configurations that tailor its behavior to specific tasks, workflows, or areas of focus. Orbitax provides a comprehensive set of pre-built Tax Skills out of the box, covering corporate tax rates, withholding tax, treaty analysis, Pillar 2 / GloBE compliance, transfer pricing, permanent establishment risk, filing manager guidance, and more. For more targeted use cases, users can create their own custom Tax Skills by defining the instructions, context, or preferences that XatBot should follow.

Tax Skills are triggered automatically based on the context of the conversation, no manual selection required. This enables teams to standardize how XatBot is used across recurring workflows, ensuring consistent, accurate, and targeted responses for every interaction, whether using an Orbitax-provided Skill or one built in-house.

Also New in This Release

Verification Tab – Every XatBot response now includes automatic verification that cross-checks key points against the Orbitax database and live web sources, displaying a confidence level of High, Medium, or Low for each.
Documents – A dedicated space where users can upload up to 20 files that XatBot references across all future conversations. XatBot automatically summarizes each document and retains those summaries in context, functioning as a persistent, document-based memory layer.
Email Composer – Convert research and analysis into a ready-to-send email directly from XatBot. Choose your preferred tone, review the draft, and send, all from within the International Tax Platform.
Enhanced Visuals – XatBot’s responses now include rich, interactive visual elements such as rate cards, KPI indicators, and side-by-side comparisons, rendered automatically within tax memos and rate-based responses.
File Creator (PowerPoint Support) – Convert XatBot research into structured, downloadable .pptx presentations. XatBot determines the appropriate number of slides and organizes findings into a ready-to-use deck.
CSV File Support – Upload and analyze structured data directly within a XatBot conversation. Ask for summaries, identify patterns, perform calculations, or extract specific values from your datasets.
UI Updates – A streamlined interface with Search, Attach, and Help & Support consolidated under the + icon, and Data Privacy settings moved under Settings for a cleaner experience.
